Dissatisfied with the options available for movie and music servers on the market, the founders decided to build their own digital repositories based on Windows Media Center.

Within a single system, users can access photos, music, play slideshows, record & view TV, as well as DVD movies - all controlled from a single remote via a simple to use TV interface.

World's 1st HD-DVD & Blu-ray Combo Player

With the high definition format wars at their start and no clear winner in sight, VidaBox becomes the world's first company to provide support for both Blu-ray and HD-DVD disc formats with their exclusive "Dual HD" upgrade on their rack-mounted, premium LUX and MAX systems.

Beyond disc based content, VidaBox also offered CableCARD ready systems as a part of their offerings in 2006. Whether you wanted HD content from TV or disc based sources - one system does it all!

Customizable vAutomation Touch Controls

VidaBox debuts vAutomation - a truly customizable touch screen based automation interface. Combining lighting controls, multiroom audio, AV device controls via IR, RS232, or IP - vAutomation provides a unique alternative to expensive, proprietary control systems that requires specific programmers for a closed-end system.

When combined with VidaBox Media Systems, professional dealers and integrators were able to offer a world-class entertainment experience from virtually any source, stream it to any room, and control it from anywhere in the home.

New VidaBox Kiosk division is born

The launch of the Apple iPad was an absolute game changer, as traditional touchscreen interfaces were well in the thousands of dollars range. It became adamantly clear to us that we needed to come up with a way to Mount and Power these devices - and thus, the VidaBox Kiosk division was born, spinning off separately from VidaBox Media Systems!

With the release of the first gen VidaMount metal frames in 7 different colors and finishes, plus our iPower™ low voltage power systems, VidaBox was amongst the first manufacturers to turn iPads into fixed tablet interfaces, as an affordable alternative to expensive, traditional home touch control interfaces.

iPCX CAT5 charging system for iPads

To seamless charge mounted multiple iPads in a single setup using standard CAT5 wiring, VidaBox created the iPCX as a replacement for the iPower™ charging system. Seamlessly integrating with their growing line of iPad & iPad2 metal frames, iPCX works with traditional CAT5 at up to 330' (100m) - driving down the cost of retrofitting iPad tablets in any scenario.

In the same year, VidaBox unveiled LiivController, powered by vAutomation 2.0. Complete with support for controls from any iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch - complete enjoyment of any type of media content is just a tap away. Nirvana awaits!

VidaBox debuts LiivNAS, vStreamer, vPlayers

To further increase affordability by driving down costs, VidaBox launched the new LiivNAS - featuring built-in Drop-n-Rip™ disc drive for easy disc archiving! Zero input is required from a user, while metadata tagging occurs automatically during archival. Complete with Sonos, Control4, and Dune HD compatiblity - the LiivNAS provides a truly affordable solution to true "Media Nirvana" for audiophiles and videophiles alike!

Lower costs doesn't mean sacrificing quality - VidaBox Media Systems continues to push the boundaries of true fidelity with the vPlayer and vStreamer Media Extenders - providing full 1080p & HD audio over a single CAT5. Discs can be archived on the vPlayer and pushed back onto the LiivNAS or other VidaBox server for true convenience!

VidaBox releases iPad mini Frames, OpenSqueeze Solo

VidaBox continues its push towards innovation with added support for Apple's newly released iPad mini tablets - with the same, wide selection of 7 different colors and finishes to blend into any home environment!

The OpenSqueeze Solo - a low-cost alternative to the discontinued line of SqueezeBox Music Players, were also released in the same year - providing support for premium online radio services such as Pandora, MOG, Last.fm, Live365, plus other free services TuneIn Radio, Shoutcast, Slacker, BBC Radio, SkyFM, and more.

VidaBox launches new iPad Air Frames

Under the VidaBox Kiosks division, iPad Air frames were launched, complete with optional home button covers to turn any iPad into a dedicated kiosk, digital signage, and more. This serves perfectly with their Media Systems' division debut of new Drop-n-Rip features including MKV support, Compass Control® integration, and a new LiivJACK mini for archiving up to (3) music or movie discs at a time.

PHT Acquires VidaBox Media Systems

In an effort to better support the growing demand of the Kiosk sector - Perfect Home Theater (PHT), a Florida-based company, has acquired the VidaBox Media Systems division in May 2016. PHT has been a long time friend of the VidaBox family, so the existing customer based will still receive high quality service.

By freeing up internal human resources, this allowed VidaBox to push 100% towards serving the iPad / tablet mounts and charging solutions sector - as tablets are quickly released by Apple, Samsung, Microsoft, and Amazon year-after-year.

VidaBox expands into new facilities

To meet growing demand for our in-house manufactured products, VidaBox is moving from our Garden City Park, NY facilities to a new, designed-from-the-ground-up plant in Plainview, NY - with more than double the square footage!

This change allows us to maximize production throughput to shorten lead times, and handle bulk production projects in days or weeks instead of months.

New Patents issued for VidaBox

Good things come to those who wait - with two official US Patent and Trademark office utility patents issued to VidaBox for our VidaMount on-wall slim mounts, and fixed tilt wall mount! These unique, best-selling designs stood the stringent examination by the US Patent office and were granted patent numbers US10809764B2 and US10876325B2!

These enhanced legal protections allow VidaBox to further expand their product line to support all of the latest Apple iPads, Galaxy Tabs, Microsoft Surface, and Amazon Fire tablets.

DataCharger: PoE-USBC Power & Data

With a growing demand for a one-size-fits-all solution by integrators and end users alike, VidaBox developed the DataCharger - a PoE to USBC solution that provides up to 50+W of charging power! Its unique features also include the ability to re-establish Ethernet data upon power loss upstream from a PoE switch or injector - a critical feature that's often missed by competitor solutions but required for commercial installers.
